Art is a language, a way one can express him/herself. Words are not enough to express that which is inside. Actions speak louder than words.
Art will last forever, it is like a story told but no words are spoken but everything is understood. It can inspire people and show that that anything is possible if one believes in him/herself.
Art is creating Something out of nothing. A pencil, pastel,paintbrush and paper is basically nothing. But when an artist mixes the two, he/she has stories,moods,emotions,thoughts to pour out from his/her soul, all these that are to be displayed to the world and hopefully inspire and change lives forever.

(I have no idea how notes work or how to respond to them...so profile page comment it is ;-P). Ummm to be honest I have no idea whether Christmas lights are allowed...it doesn't say anything specific about that sort of thing in the rules. I wanted everything self-contained in the box and I was concerned about plugs and things as every place has different outlets, so I opted for these small round battery operated "push" lights with sticky backs that I bought from the local hardware store. I hope they'll be fine with something like this I mean nowhere in the rules does it stipulate against them, and they seem to be safe and compliant for transport as they're battery operated and fit nicely and safely in the box. But there are others that have done lighting externally... I think, and I'm sure the judges wouldn't be too strict...at least I hope :-S. Anyway, best of luck I can't wait to see your entry and all the others yet to come! It's a pretty fun contest and there are soooo many good entries, it's pretty much anyone's game at the moment :-D.
